<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: 11pt;">When your friend asks you to go shopping with her for a ‘new job wardrobe’, you say yes. Or at least you should! I went on a shopping adventure with my friend who had just accepted a position at a local office. Her previous employer didn’t require a dress code, but of course this one did. </span><span style="font-size: 11pt;">I was up for the challenge. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: 11pt;">I mean, who doesn’t want to pick out all of the clothes and not have to buy anything! 😉</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: 11pt;"><br></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: 11pt;">My friend and I went to so many stores that day and learned that finding fashionable work attire was harder than we thought it was going to be. She is a mom of three and didn’t want to spend a lot on clothes she didn’t really like and wouldn’t wear anywhere other than work. We managed to find a few staple pieces like black pants, black capris, white collared shirts and a couple floral shirts that she didn’t despise and didn’t empty her wallet. </span><br>
<span style="font-size: 11pt;"><br></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: 11pt;">There were still pedicures planned that day and she didn’t want to forego those! We talked during those glorious foot scrubs about how hard it was to find a new wardrobe for her and how it wasn’t as fun as shopping usually is. That is when the idea of Will & Trust Boutique came to be. An affordable boutique for working girls who want to enjoy the experience of shopping for a new closet and still have money left over for the pedicure afterwards. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: 11pt;"><br></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: 11pt;"><a href="http://www.shopwillandtrust.com/">Will & Trust Boutique</a> is a site dedicated to giving all working girls something we aren’t embarrassed to leave work in. Outfits you can go out for after work cocktails and not have to go home to change first. This site is for us.</span></div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLdq-36S6ONy_oC6nXjn9rOyYyDs9dEQTX3jn0mPJQqT-6_LDs9W6wP_JBfKFArjLa7BIoSl6mUGhhMcMxOUhbZHQH4Wr7MMoF4qbaO5mtt9DO9KjYw807uoCgMMbls0Ly2v098rw6Uj6h/s1600/colorado.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="120" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLdq-36S6ONy_oC6nXjn9rOyYyDs9dEQTX3jn0mPJQqT-6_LDs9W6wP_JBfKFArjLa7BIoSl6mUGhhMcMxOUhbZHQH4Wr7MMoF4qbaO5mtt9DO9KjYw807uoCgMMbls0Ly2v098rw6Uj6h/s320/colorado.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
With just 10 hours of drive time to Denver, Colorado (and the right concerts playing in one weekend) my husband, our dog Sadie, and I decided to pack up and go! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I know it sounds crazy to a lot of people, but we just can't say no when all the right cards are on the table. We have always wanted to take our extremely spoiled pooch hiking with us (and just on vacation in general) and we have also stalked concerts playing at the Red Rocks for years now. </div>
<div>
<br />
The Red Rocks is a naturally formed, outdoor amphitheater just minutes outside of Denver. Pictures of this place just look phenomenal and the natural acoustics are amazing. </div>
<div>
The <a href="http://www.denverpost.com/2016/06/03/10-most-memorable-concerts-in-red-rocks-history/">Denver Post</a> put together a list of the 10 most memorable concerts ever played at the park and this list is stellar.<br />
<div>
The Beatles (1964), The Grateful Dead (1978), John Denver (1974), U2 (1982), and Radiohead in 2003 are a few on the list. </div>
<div>

Jurassic 5 was playing Friday night just as we got into Denver, so we had to drop Sadie off and head straight there. Life is all about adventure, right?</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Saturday we wanted to take Sadie hiking with us. There are several dog friendly hiking spots in Colorado, it was hard to pick one. We decided to go with Elk Meadow Park. It is a beautiful park with hiking trails for all levels. Mountain bikers are welcome too, if you're brave enough! We went ended up hiking about 9 miles that day!</div>

Another aspect of Colorado that we were excited to check out was all the breweries. We went right across the street to the <a href="http://www.evergreentaphouse.com/">Evergreen Tap House</a>. We deserved a cold brew after all of that!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We heard about a place called <a href="http://www.eatmorejelly.com/">Jelly Cafe</a>. It was a 1950's inspired diner with all the appropriate decor from that era. I love the 50's so it was perfect for me. We had made to order donut holes filled with lemon custard and raspberry jelly. It was to die for, you must try it if you are ever in Denver!</div>

Last weekend I traveled to New York City with my husband and some friends to run the <a href="http://www.nyrr.org/races-and-events/2017/airbnb-brooklyn-half">Airbnb half marathon</a> in Brooklyn, NY. Let's be honest, that was only one reason we traveled to New York. The other reasons being that it's an amazing place with lots of good memories in the jungle of concrete, car horns, and food carts. I always say, you never forget your first trip to the city. Bright lights, huge buildings, people of all kinds everywhere, stores that never seem to close, and even the street performers sing better than you on your best drunk night of karaoke! For me, it was an experience that made me want to spend one of the most intimate experiences of my life, my wedding day, in the city that never sleeps. That's a story for another day. A novel of a story, really. <br />
<br />
This trip we were focused on having the most fun we could while still trying to save our legs for the half marathon. We flew in on a Wednesday night and by Thursday we had walked 13 miles... Oops. The Brooklyn Airbnb half marathon is said to be the largest half marathon in the country and I believe that. There were 27,440 finishers this year! You start at Prospect Park and run through Brooklyn to Coney Island, finishing on the boardwalk. Amazing finish! We finished this year without any major set backs, which left time for delicious brunches, cocktails, and shows from all spectrums!<br />
We started our trip with packet pick up and a fun late night Jazz Session at Swing 46 on 46th Street aka <a href="http://www.restaurantrownyc.com/">restaurant row</a>. This is a great little spot where you can sip on hand crafted cocktails and watch top notch jazz music. There is also a dance floor large enough for several couples to enjoy, without losing the intimate feeling of the club. Joining them is much easier after a little Champagne and a free lesson... We did, why not!<br />
<br />
I made sure to wear a classic, black dress to channel my inner Audrey. This sleeveless dress made of mixed fabric, has a layered front which compliments every body type. I paired this dress with gold, sandals and gold and pearl earrings. I was happy with the way this look turned out. You can shop this look on <a href="http://shopwillandtrust.com/">shopwillandtrust.com</a>, which is set to launch soon.<br />

We then headed over to another Jazz club called <a href="http://www.smokejazz.com/">Smoke</a> on Broadway. This place was hosting a cool hip hop/jazz band called <a href="http://spotmeanickel.com/">Nickel & Dime</a>. <br />
<br />
Now, if you have ever seen You've Got Mail you will love where we went Friday night. We went to an adorable little spot on 83rd St. called <a href="http://cafelalo.com/">Cafe Lalo</a>. We had amazing desserts and coffee then we soaked in the ambiance of this sweet, little spot.<br />

Saturday was race day and we headed to Brooklyn to get in early enough to check bags and stand around freezing for 45 minutes before the race started. After it started I was revitalized at mile 5 (by the cute dog park, of course). We ran down Ocean Parkway and made our way to Coney Island, which (makes you feel like you're in a movie set) is a really fun sight to see! <br />

It started raining as soon as I finished so we grabbed an Uber and had Brunch at <a href="http://www.milkandhoneycafeny.com/">Milk & Honey </a>which is on Newkirk Avenue in Brooklyn. After a foot massage and a nap/shower I was ready to shop 5th Avenue, because 5th Avenue!<br />
We dined in Chelsea that night at a tapas restaurant called <a href="http://www.elquintopinonyc.com/">El Quinto Pino</a> on 24th St. We chose this place because it was very close to the Comedy Club we went to afterwards, <a href="https://ucbtheatre.com/">Upright Citizens Brigade</a>. (UCB) Theater. UCB comedy club was home to Amy Poehler, Horatio Sanz, and Matt Besser, to name a few. Highly recommend this place!<br />
We left UCB and walked to the<a href="http://www.thehighline.org/"> High line</a>, a 1.45 mile long linear park on a disused New York City railroad spur that is has breath taking views of the city. This is a very quiet place to walk with friends and just reflect on your day and the city. I love that the Department of Parks and Recreation and Friends of the High Line made this place exist.<br />

Sunday was our last day in the city. After packing up and ensuring our good reviews, we headed out for a bite to eat and happened to pass by an outdoor antique market. I love a good antique store and just had to check it out. There were lots of good finds and I ended up leaving with some old photographs that I found in shoe box. Some people may find it sad that someone else's photographs are now sitting in a box being sold, but I don't see it that way. I find it quite charming and nostalgic. I hope that years after I'm gone people are looking through photographs I took of places I traveled to and want to keep them to look at themselves. I see these old photographs as looking through the eyes of another person who was having a fabulous vacation and was very happy in that moment. I think it's romantic that way. <br />

Such a big accomplishment, all your hard work payed off and you are finishing school. <br />However, now is the big question, where do you go from here? As an <i>about to be college graduate</i> myself, I have had several people asking me what's next. The truth is, I don't know. I have no clue what I am going to do next and that's OK. You don't have to have everything planned out right away. Here is what you can do, plan for all the interviews you're going to be getting! There is an art to interviewing, believe it or not. Here are some of my tips for interviewing. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Imagine the following scenario...<br />You just got the call saying your resume is fabulous, like you, and the prospect wants you to come in for an interview! After you set up a time, make sure the phone is hung up, and then start jumping up and down screaming out of excitement! After you calm down, you're going to ask yourself the one thing every woman asks herself when she realizes something big is going to happen. “What am I going to wear?” That is a good question and it could mean you get the job or you don’t. What you wear is the first impression a prospective employer gets. You want to send a good message. No matter what the industry is you want to keep your look sleek and simple. Leave your creative pieces at home and save them for another time. This is not a good time to break out your favorite hot pink bomber jacket with your favorite pins on it. If you aren’t sure how formal to dress remember it is better to overdress than to under dress. Overdressing shows that you have respect for the company and that you care about the interview. You don’t want anything to low-cut, too short, or too tight. You want your outfit to fit you properly, but if not, looser is much better than tighter. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Here is an example of a top that would work for your interview. This top <span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">has the perfect amount of detail to make you fall in love and could pair swimmingly with a black pant.</span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRma7C76deav7QfmLt8aB3wnoh0tQG60Uhc3mIFa6sb7Yr-c0barv9sV9JbC6jS137Oo8nlkEtTo-VBP1-dnkf9izCk-oUJlq_NCA6y-p0Y7JuPh-oqnxNX7PEHgE2xjr79t4F68MR3OsR/s320/graduate+blog.jpg" width="180" /><a href="http://www.shopwillandtrust.com/">www.shopwillandtrust.com</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;"><br /></span>Now, for the shoes. You can go with either flats or heels. I would keep it in the realm of what you can actually walk confidently in. Probably best to stay away from the heels you wore to your best friends wedding, that you drank too much at, and had to ditch the shoes.<br />(Obviously, I have only seen that happen to other people and never have experienced that myself 😅)<br />Anyway, if you do choose heels, go for a simple 3 inch heel that you can walk in and not distract the interviewer. You want them to focus on you and what you’re saying and not how you AREN’T walking. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">For makeup and hair, stay away from anything that makes you look like you are going to a club or to a bachelorette party. Minimalism is key here. Try nude or natural colored nails and no thick eye liner. Something else to consider is pulling your hair back if you have long hair (like I do). You don’t want to be constantly brushing your hair out of your face. You want to look polished and well groomed. Perfume is not necessary here, you don’t want to come off too strong in this area. Keep the accessories simple. No big chunky necklaces or large dangling earrings. Try simple gold stud earrings or a pearl necklace. It is also best to go simple here. <br />Now, do some research on the company, learn a little about it. Remember there is a reason you got an interview, they are interested! Go get ‘em!</span></div>

Short weekend getaways<br />
can sometimes take the most planning. <br />
Why is that? You would think you could pack light and get away with only a few outfits, but if you're like me you quickly realize you have at least three 'what ifs' laid out. You know what I'm talking about, the 'what if we go here' or 'what if we decide to do this' outfit options. <br />
<div>
<br />
Last weekend I took a short work trip to Florida. <br />
I needed to pack for Friday, Saturday, and a coming home outfit on Sunday. I started with a few staple pieces; a cotton dress, cute cloth shorts, swim suit, and a cocktail dress. This escalated into a 'what if' we decide to go shopping and walk around to do some sight seeing, 'what if' we decide to go out Saturday night after the conference.<br />
Because of this I included some cute soft-pink shorts and a navy tank and an adorable stripped dress which is a step up from casual cotton. </div>
<div>
<br />
Let's talk packing strategy. Luckily my husband knows how I travel and purchased some fantastic packing cubes allowing me to effectively sort my needs from my 'what ifs'. These are available on Prime in adorable colors, I included a link to these packing cubes for you guys on my page. Trust me, you're going to want these!<br />

For airport fashion I like to keep things comfortable, yet attractive. I was traveling from 60 degrees into 90 degrees. This was a tricky one to plan, but I chose to wear some thin, wide leg pants and a black tank with some shimmery detail on the front. When you are unsure always go black and white, it's an easy win between casual and class.</div>

a normal day consists of trying to get up early enough to get in a workout, 530am. You sleep in your workout clothes so you can sleep an extra 2 minutes, I mean, it's necessary. You get to the gym or track and get back home in just enough time to shower and blow dry your hair. (Which takes a surprising amount of time that no husband or boyfriend understands.) You finish your routine, eat breakfast, grab a cup of joe, and turn on Matt and Al. <br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>Now pause</i>, this is where it can get messy. Do you spend the extra time getting ready or sitting down for 30 minutes before your 9 hour day begins. Yes, begins, it hasn't even started yet! <br />
<br />
It is important to make sure you feel good about yourself the rest of the day. Sure, you worked out, you logged that! However, I always take a few extra minutes to put together an outfit that I feel good in, even if I pick it out the night before. I have a few go-to pieces that never fail me and that's what I grab instead of a basic tee. There are a few simple accessories that can make or break a girls day and I spend a little extra time on things that I feel good in; lip stick, eye make-up, hair, accessories. This makes the rest of my day feel more 'put together'. <br />
<br />
It never fails, you know how it is, you don't spend that extra time on yourself and somebody wants you to go somewhere right after work and you wish you had. This happened to me a few weeks ago, I was lazy and didn't fix my hair or my make- up very well and the worst happened. Head shot for a newsletter had to be taken THAT day. I was so unhappy, but I had to do it. I still can't look at it 😱 .<br />
<br />
This is what I'm talking about, make sure you leave the house feeling good. You deserve to. You are juggling life and that in itself is enough to wear a girl out. <br />
<br />
Here are a few of my favorite items that can quickly dress up any day in very little time.<br />
